Cheeseburger Trouble
L
et's talk a truth. In the "consumer culture" society in US we eat too much, we eat too fast and we hardly have time to prepare our own meals. The most we're mostly doing - is counting the calories intake, trying to refuse sugars from our diet and spending money on diet pills. It is just the easiest ways to go, isn't it.

Why do we eat too much?
  • We eat too much because we like the food.
  • We eat too much because we are upset or stressed out.
  • We eat too much because we had a drink or two.
  • We eat too much because we stay late at night.
  • We eat too much because our parents told us never leave the food on our plates.
  • When we eat too much and our intestines are already full of food, any additional food is forced in the stomach overtime and sour. When thos food putrefies, its poisons are absorbed into the blood and consequently the whole system is affected. Overeating makes the work of the heart, stomach, liver, kidney, and bowels much harder and of course, "helps" our body to store excessive fat tissue.
Why fast eating kills us

Physiologically, it takes about 20 minutes before your brain receives the "full" signal from your stomach and intestines. When we eat too fast, our brain doesn't have enough time to sense that the body has been fed and turned off the hunger signals. So you eat a lots of food and then feel overstuffed and uncomfortable.

The more we chew our foods, the less work is needed to digest them. It reduces the burden on our digestive system, improves absorption and speeds up the passing of foods through our digestive tract. For people who are constantly experiencing bloating, stomach pain or heartburn after eating, they are eating too fast and are causing indigestion.

Cheeseburger trouble or wrong food combination

Do you know why the cheeseburgers are so bad for you? The trouble with cheeseburgers starts not with a greasy oils they fried in but with combining starch and protein in one single meal.

There are three types of food known: protein (meats, beans, cheese, eggs), starch (bread, corn, rice, potatoes, milk, macaroni, etc.) and fruits. Each type of food passed to the stomach makes it produce special acids and enzymes needed for digestion. Also, each type of food takes the different amount of time to be digested before it goes into the small intestine.

A protein meal causes our stomach lining to produce strong acid, enzymes and a thick, sticky mucus to protect the lining of the stomach from attack by its own enzymes. It usually takes three-four hours for our systems digest the protein meal.

A meal of starch is partly digested in the mouth where chewing mixes enzymes in the alkaline saliva with the food. The starch molecule is split into sugar molecules. A starch meal does not stimulate the stomach to produce acid, or protein digesting enzymes, and the food is passed on to the small intestine within two hours. In the small intestine, further enzymes are added in an alkaline solution that complete the breakdown of starches into sugars.

Fruit juice takes only about 15 minutes and raw fruit about 30 minutes to digest. Always eat fruits before the meal. Fruits passed down the stomach after the meal when strong acids and enzymes start doing their job, will get rotten in your stomach giving you bad breath and causes gases that may feel pretty uncomfortable and embarrassing.

Our digestive system only works efficiently if starch, protein and fruits appear as separate meals. If starch is mixed with protein, the enzymes in the stomach are diluted and the stomach feels full for longer because digestion of protein is inefficient. Acid is being produced for every mixed meal, which puts the stomach under stress. The acid has to be neutralized by the bile salts for every meal, which puts the small intestine under stress.

Food Combining is one thing most modern nutritionists all seem to agree on. It is good digestive science. If you are entering middle age and you are starting to have problems, then these simple guidelines should be followed without exception.

If you combine your foods properly, your digestion improves and your metabolism improves. After a month or two you'll find yourself 10-20 pounds lighter and 100% healthier. Suggested Guidelines
  • Do not combine fruit with any other food. Eat fruit separately, half an hour before anything else and three hours after a meal. If you must eat close to bedtime, and it is three hours since your last meal, then you can have a little fruit.
  • Only ONE protein per meal. This means no steak and lobster or steak and shrimp. No steak and chicken either. No shrimp and scallops either. However, EGGS are the exception. Consider them neutral; they are good with meats, dairy, and beans.
  • Do not combine beans with meat, poultry, or fish. They combine well with dairy and veggies.
  • Milk and meat should never be eaten together. Milk and meat are simply not designed to be digested together. Drink pure, room temp water, with meals.
  • Never combine meat (including fish or fowl) with gluten rich starches. Here is where we find out just how deadly our hamburgers are.
  • Never drink water before food is swallowed. Allow your saliva to begin the digestive process.
